Steady Strides Secret Recipe?

A recent large scale emergency department systematic review to analyze effectiveness of multifactorial falls prevention interventions on preventing falls, fall injuries, emergency department and hospital re-admissions for older adults with prior falls showed “insufficient evidence to support the use of multifactorial interventions to prevent falls or hospital utilization in older people presenting to ED following a fall” (Inj Prev. 2019 Jul 9).

Unfortunately, these studies only evaluated education, referral to healthcare services, home modifications, exercise and medication changes to help prevent falls. At Steady Strides our retrospective analysis preliminary results showed that over 9/10 patients report at least 50% improvement from their baseline rate of falls with average of 85% improvement from baseline. Why are we successful: in addition to the strategies considered above we use one special key ingredient: biomechanical analysis of gait to drive medical diagnosis and treatment plans.
